A Rabun County man, Rick Story, has been named to the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council.

Story is the vice president of economic development at North Georgia Technical College. He previously worked with the University of Georgia’s Archway Partnership.

Story also served as a congressional aide for 14 years, working for then-Congressman Nathan Deal and former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

Story lives in Clayton.

Deal, now Georgia's governor, made the appointment.
