Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson said investigators with his office continue to actively probe a theft that took place last month at the Burberry store at North Georgia Premium Outlets on Georgia 400.
Johnson said deputies responded to a burglar alarm at the store at 6:37 a.m. on Sunday, April 23.
"While en route to the location, the responding officers received word that the mall security officer was on scene and had witnessed three black males running from the store carrying bags full of clothing," Johnson said in an email.
He said the suspects jumped into a silver compact car and drove toward Georgia 400.
"A BOLO was placed with neighboring Forsyth County. A Forsyth County sheriff’s deputy made contact and pursued the suspects to I-285, where the pursuit was canceled," Johnson wrote.
Johnson estimated the value of the stolen merchandise at $40,000.
