A Gainesville woman operating a motorcycle in the Buford area was struck and killed by a car Wednesday night.
The Georgia State Patrol said Anita C. Strickland, 59, was driving her motorcycle westbound in the inside lane of Friendship Road around 7:20 p.m. when she was hit by a passenger car pulling into the road from B.U. Bowman Drive.
GSP Cpl. Spencer Munger said Strickland died at the scene.
The driver of the car, Gary Lee Herndon, 79, of Buford, will be charged with 2nd degree vehicular homicide and failure to yield, according to Munger.
