Meals On Wheels, a program serving Towns County Senior Citizens, was chosen as the recipient of a donation of $2,538 collected by The Audi Club of North America, at their Annual “Quattro De Mayo” weekend celebration.
The Audi Club N.A. is an active group of Audi owners and enthusiast from all over the country and affiliate with Audi Clubs worldwide.
The Towns County Senior Center, Meals On Wheels program is administered by Gainesville-based Legacy Link, local arm of the Area Agency on Aging, and is funded in part by federal, state and local funds, but relies heavily on donations and fund raisers to maintain outreach and continue to provide over 300 meals each week. Officials say with the current threat of a 20% cut to federal funds, the need is even greater while the number of seniors served continues to grow.
