A candidate for Georgia's 9th Congressional District is hosting a non-partisan town hall event Thursday, May 11 in Gainesville to discuss the American Health Care Act (ACHA) and its impact on local families.
Joshua McCall (D-Gainesville), the only candidate so far to announce a run against incumbent Doug Collins (R-Gainesville), will host the event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gainesville Civic Center, located on Green Street.
In a statement to AccessWDUN, McCall said it is "intended to answer citizens’ questions about this new bill that will impact all of our lives. A panel of health care experts, physicians and consumers will give an overview of the AHCA and field questions from the crowd."
Panelists include: Dr. Phaedra Corso, University of Georgia professor of human health; Dr. Gale Starich, Brenau College of Health Sciences dean; and Dr. Rebecca Quigg, practicing physician.
The event is free and open to the public.
