Truett men's golf places 4th at AAC Championships

ACWORTH — The Truett McConnell men's golf team moved up one spot in the AAC Championship to fourth place after a 297 final round score Tuesday. TMU shattered its three-day total record with a score of 890.

Senior Drew Schmidt finished his collegiate career with three of his final four rounds under par, including a final-round 71 to get to a seventh-place finish. Matt Smith finished in sixth place, while Luke Peavy finished in a tie for 11th.

Point won the tournament by one stroke over St. Andrews, two better than Reinhardt and four better than TMU. The Bears past Tennessee Wesleyan on the final day to finish in fourth place.
