The Georgia Department of Transportation continues work on a new SR 53 bridge over Lake Lanier, and crews plan overnight lane closures Wednesday starting at 7 p.m.
"Crews will be pouring another substructure support for the new bridge," said GDOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland in a news release.
"Overnight lane closures on the bridge that carries State Route 53 over Lake Lanier continue tonight, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 7 p.m. through Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 6 a.m."
Strickland said the single lane closure will be in effect from Dogwood Trail to Little Hall Park. Flagging operators and a pilot truck will be controlling traffic over the bridge.
