Hall authorities arrest Flowery Branch man, seize drugs worth over $62,000

Authorities estimated a street value of roughly $62,370 for the drugs seized from a Flowery Branch man's home Monday, including suspected THC infused popcorn and brownies.

 

Kyle Scott Foster, 30, faces charges in the case following his arrest at a residence on Pond Mill Court off of Union Circle, according to the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.

 

The seized drugs included 24 packages of the popcorn and 72 packages of the THC infused brownies.  THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is a compound in marijuana that has psychoactive effects, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

 

"What was going on with that was this suspect, we think, we haven't confirmed this yet, but we're pretty sure at this point that he was ordering this stuff from Colorado," MANS Lt. Don Scalia said.  "It's prepackaged that way."

 

In addition, agents confiscated approximately 6 pounds of marijuana packaged in 35 separate bags, 316 grams of butane hash oil and 232 vials of THC infused liquid.

 

"The vials are actually what they call the vape inserts that they put in the electronic cigarettes," Scalia said.

 

While executing the search warrant, Scalia said authorities also seized 162 grams of psychedelic mushrooms packaged in 5 separate bags, 6 Adderall pills and a sawed-off shotgun.

 

Foster is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana, possession of psilocybin (mushrooms) with the intent to distribute, possession of psilocybin, possession of amphetamine and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

 

"He was a pretty active distributor, but no additional charges or arrests are anticipated with this investigation right now," Scalia said.

 

Foster remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday afternoon, according to the online inmate population list.

 

The Oakwood Police Department and Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force assisted in the case.
