Easter Weekend in Gainesville begins Friday with two traditional Good Friday events.

A Stations of the Cross procession will begin at Grace Episcopal Church at noon and continue down Green Street, ending at First Baptist Church.

According to a posting on Grace church's website, during the procession, participants will pause for readings and prayers along Green Street.

Meanwhile, at Laurel Park, St. Michael's Catholic Church will continue its long-standing Stations of the Cross event.  It is scheduled to begin at 11:00 and end at 2:00.

Stations of the Cross involves a number of images depicting Jesus on the day of his crucifixion, accompanied by prayers.
