Five people face charges of commercial gambling and keeping a place of gambling following two unrelated investigations in Hall County last week.

During the undercover investigations, Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad agents seized a combined $89,400 in cash this past Thursday, according to Lt. Don Scalia.

The bulk of the cash, $77,400, came from the Exxon Food Mart at 2322 Browns Bridge Road, according to authorities.

"MANS Task Force Officers developed information of illegal cash payouts occurring from the operation of gambling machines at the above location," a media release from Scalia stated.

Also Thursday, agents seized $12,000 cash from Zack's Food Rack located at 2052 Candler Road.

They arrested Himanshu Patel, 33, Babubhai Keshabhai Chaudhari, 45, and Prakash Givanbhei Chaudhari, 32, all of Gainesville, according to Scalia.

Four of the five suspects made bond.  Jiwani remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday morning on the gambling charges and an immigration hold, according to the online inmate population list.
