NORCROSS — The Lakeview boys soccer team took Class A No. 3-ranked Wesleyan down to the wire but eventually fell 3-1 in a Region 8-A match on the road Thursday night.
The Lions (6-6-2, 3-2 Region 8-A) scored in opening four minutes on a goal by Andrew Miller-Bell on an assist by Bryce Kimball to take a surprising 1-0 lead. Wesleyan (7-3-3, 3-0) tied the game in the 14th minute on a penalty kick and then took a 2-1 advantage on a shot from the left side in the 26th minute.
It stay that way until the last 40 seconds when the Wolvs they flicked in a header off a throw-in for the final score.
TJ Wolcott kept the Lions in the game with 19 saves in goal.
