For the fourth time in a week, Hall County Animal Control confirms a case of rabies in the county.
In the most recent incident, announced Friday, a dog had contact with a rabid skunk in the area of Latty Road in Lula, according to a news release.
The skunk was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur, where it tested positive for rabies.
It is also the fourth case so far in 2017.
Positive alert signs have been posted in the area, and pet owners are advised to keep their pets' vaccinations up to date.
