Habitat for Humanity of Hall County will be hosting an old fashioned wall raising at Copper Glen on Saturday.
They will be starting the day with just the foundations in place and attempting to end the day with two framed houses on lots 6 and 7. This will be a collaborative effort led by Habitat Hall, the North Georgia Homebuilder’s Association, and Gainesville First United Methodist Church. Habitat will be providing the project management and oversight, the NGHBA will be serving as team building leaders, and GFUMC will be providing volunteers.
Habitat High of Hall County will be involved in completing the houses.
While the wall raising is focused on two houses, they are actually part of a trio of houses that are being built simultaneously. This is the first time in Habitat Hall’s 28-year history that this feat is being attempted. These 3 houses were funded by proceeds from the 25th Annual Medical Center Open of the Medical Center Foundation. Once completed, the houses will become the homes of Meoshea Columbus, Caleb Last, and Joe and Holly Byrd.
