GAINESVILLE — The North Hall tennis teams took a pair of shutout wins ovr Lumpkin County Tuesday in a Region 7-AAA matchup.
The Lady Trojans dropped just five games in taking a 5-0 victory while the boys won 4-0 and led in the final match before weather stopped the match.
For the girls, Anna Montgomery defeated Izzy Kinnard 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Sydney Patterson beat Marissa Miller 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Lauren White defeated Anna Sparks 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. In doubles, the No. 1 team of Christen Barnes and Lauren Davis knocked off Lindsey Rushtonand Shelby McCill 6-0, 6-0 and the No. 2 team of Baylee Turner and Ella Oxley defeated Elizabeth Harwood and Brooke Waters 6-1, 6-0
The Lady Trojans improved to 8-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 in region play.
In the boys match in singles, Masa Kobayashi defheld off Tyler Schott 6-2, 6-2; Christian Boychuk defeated Laken Farrell 6-1, 6-3; and Kody Dills was up a set at 6-4 when the match was suspended.
In doubles, Daniel Martin and Shawn Wallhausen defeated Luke Forrester and Aaron Dempsey 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 and Adam Turcotte and Ethan Surles beat Jacob Tomblin and Conor Stephens 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2.
The boys improved to 7-5 and 3-1 the region.
Both teams travel to Fannin County on Thursday to close out their Region 7-AAA schedules.
