The Gainesville Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred this week on the north side of the city.
Details are limited, but a social media post made by the department said the crime happened at a residence on Dixon Circle, not far from Thompson Bridge Road.
Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook issued a brief update via email, but noted that he is unable to share more information at this time.
"The victims are male and female," he explained. "They were the occupants of the residence."
The online post also contained condolences from the department, with the message reading, in part: "These cases are never easy to work and greatly affect us all. Our prayers are with the victims family, neighbors and friends."
