New travel baseball team forming

GAINESVILLE — Tigers Baseball is organizing a new travel baseball team for players aged 15- and 16-years-old based in Gainesville and Hall County.

Tryouts for the new team are schedule for Sunday, March 19 at Ivey-Watson Field between 2 and 4:40 p.m.

The 15/16U Tigers team will be open to any player age 15 or 16 years old as of May 1, 2017. The team will participate in spring and summer tournaments this year. Private tryouts will also be available.

The coaching staff will be made of several former area players:

- Head Coach Scott Clackum, owner of Tigers Baseball and former player at college and professional level.

- McClain Ramey, owner of Line Drive Academy in Cleveland and former collegiate player at Truett McConnell College.

- Luke Crumley, a former White County High standout and pitcher at the University of Georgia from 2012-2014.
