GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville boys tennis team out-fought Winder-Barrow 3-2 on Tuesday at Longwood Park in Gainesville.
The Red Elephants swept the doubles points, including wins for the No. 1 team of Roan Thompson and Michael Head, 6-2, 6-0, and the No. 2 team of Thomas Carter and Max Wuest, 6-2, 6-4.
Dylan Pineda clinched the match for Gainesville at No. 3 singles, winning 6-4, 6-3.
The Red Elephants' Matthew Carter lost a tough match at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
Gainesville is now 2-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA play.
