FOWERY BRANCH — The Buford girls soccer team opened Region 8-AAAAA play with a 5-0 win over Flowery Branch Tuesday night.
The Lady Wolves (7-1, 1-0 Region 8-AAAAA) got two goals from Morgan Smith and a shuout in goal from Maggie Leland, who had three saves.
Cameron Hall added a goal and an assist for Buford. Arden Paulino and Maggie Davis had one goal apiece and Maria Maggio had two assists and Julia Lewis one assist for the Lady Wolves.
Buford next will play host to Walnut Grove on Friday in another key Region 8-AAAAA match.
