A new study by the National Council for Home Safety and Security shows that Braselton (3) and Flowery Branch (8) are among the ten safest cities in Georgia. Gainesville is #45 on the list.
Five other northeast Georgia cities and towns — Jefferson (15), Auburn (20), Commerce (22), Suwanee (25) and Winder (40) — are included in the list of 50 safest cities.
How was the study conducted:
To identify the safest cities in Georgia, according to the council's Website, "we reviewed the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics along with our own population data and internal research. We eliminated any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and removed cities with populations under 5,000."
The National Council for Home Safety and Security is a trade association comprised of home security professionals across the United States. The council advocates for safe communities and home safety with a strong focus on community involvement, according to its Website, which is where you can read more about the methodology used in compiling the list.
