Fair Street International Academy hosted its annual Heritage Luncheon on recently for parents, community members, and Fair Street alumni. This year's theme, entitled "Education Matters", focused on the impact of education within African American culture.

A "talking" museum showcasing George Washington Carver, Ruby Bridges, Mary McLeod Bethune, Arnaldo Tamayo Mendez, and Barack and Michelle Obama was presented by students as guests walked along the main hallway. Attendees also had an opportunity to receive information from exhibits sponsored by colleges, organizations and local businesses.

During the luncheon, Principal Will Campbell welcomed and introduced guests followed by performances by Fair Street students which included choral performances, dramatizations, and a song and dance routine. The event concluded with kindergartners displaying their artwork inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s  "I Have A Dream" speech.
