Baseball: Falcons fall to N. Oconee in late rally

BOGART — Flowery Branch let three separate leads slip away in a tough 7-6 loss to North Oconee Friday in non-region baseball action.

The Falcons (5-4) led 3-0 after a big first inning, then 5-3 in the fifth after the Titans had scratched back to tie the game, then 6-5 in the sixth before yielding the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

AJ Gonzalez had three hits to lead the Falcons offense. Andrew Armstrong had a hit and two RBI, Grant Lackey had a hit and RBI, and Andrew Reichart had one RBI for Flowery Branch.

Preston Felt allowed five runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings. Zander Sechrist went 3 1/3 yielding two runs on three hits. However, only two of the seven runs allowed were earned.
