Brenau University’s Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing still has scholarship-eligible slots available for enrollment in the May 2017 class in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Applications will be accepted as long as spots are available and can be submitted by following instructions at www.brenau.edu/healthsciences/department-of-nursing/nursing-admission-process/.

The class will accept 60 total students who have completed the prerequisites for a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. Those interested are invited to an open house for the School of Nursing at 6 p.m., March 27. The school is located at Brenau East Campus, 1001 Chestnut St. SE.

Dr. Sandra Allen, undergraduate chair for the nursing department in the College of Health Sciences, said it is an ideal time to enter the nursing profession.

“I think most people know that not only is nursing one of the most trusted professions in health care, there’s also a shortage of nurses nationally,” Allen said. “So the opportunities to find positions are great throughout the entire country. Our program specifically has what we call our mastery of content. This means, beyond the exceptional education our students receive, we work with them to provide additional resources to promote their success.”
