Tennis: North Hall teams split with Athens Academy

The North Hall tennis teams split contests with Athens Academy on Thursday, with the Lady Trojans winning 4-1 and the North Hall boys falling 0-5.

North Hall's girls were led by Lauren Davis, who defeated Anna Barkley 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Lauren White, who defeated Caroline Kuhnert 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. The Lady Trojans (3-1) also swept the doubles points behine the No. 1 team of Carsen Baumgardner /Annalise Gregory, who won 7-5, 6-4. The No. 2 team of Ella Oxley/Baylee Turner also prevailed 2-6, 6-4, 10-8. 

Meanwhile, the the Trojans (2-2) fell in all five matches in straight sets, including Masa Kobayashi at No. 1 singles, Kody Dills at No. 2 singles 0-6, 1-6 and Ethan Surles at No. 3 singles. The No. 1 doubles team of Daniel Martin/Adam Turcotte and the No. 2 team of Shawn Wallhausen /Jackson Roush also fell.

Both teams will take on Lanier on Tuesday.
