Senator Johnny Isakson plans to meet with constituents in a town hall meeting Thursday night.
The meeting will take place via teleconference, however, and constituents who want to participate will need to sign up to listen in. There's a link on the Senator's website where citizens can sign up.
The town hall will be Isakson's first public event since he underwent back surgery last week.
The teleconference is set to start at 6 p.m.
Town hall meetings for Republican congressional representatives and senators have been contentious across the country, as citizens opposed to President Donald Trump's policies have crowded the meetings, demanding answers from elected officials. On February 10, a routine meeting with junior staffers in Greensboro in east Georgia took an unexpected turn when hundred of Trump opponents jammed the meeting room.
