CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell baseball team swept a Friday twinbill against Trinity Baptist, winning game one, 5-2, and game two, 12-3. The Bears are now 9-3 on the season.

In game one, the Bears used eight hits and an Eagle error to get things going. The Bears scored in the second, third and sixth innings. They also leaned on a nine-strikeout performance from Gregory Elder, Jr., to seal the win.

Game two saw the Bears get the bats going early, scoring nine runs in the first two innings. Chris Carden pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking just one Eagle in the contest.

Austin Bishop finished 3-for-7, while Carden went 3-for-8 at the plate.

The Bears and Eagles will finish the series tomorrow in Cleveland.
