Travis Turner, chairman of the White County board of commissioners, has been elected vice chairman of the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority board of directors.

Turner succeeds former Murray County Sole Commissioner Brittany Pittman.  Gov. Deal appointed Turner to the GEFA board in November 2014.

Dallas Mayor Boyd Austin continues serving as GEFA board chairman.

The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority is the lead agency for state energy programs; directs the Georgia Land Conservation Program; maintains state-owned fuel storage tanks; and offers financing for reservoir and water supply, water quality, stormwater, and solid waste infrastructure.
