Suwanee man killed in Norcross gas station shooting, suspects on the run

Two suspects who shot and killed a Suwanee man at a Gwinnett County gas station Friday night are still on the loose, authorities said Saturday morning.

It happened at the Valero gas station on Beaver Ruin Road shortly after 11:00 p.m. when Vitali Mialik, 34, got into an argument with two men outside the store.

One of the suspects, described in a news release from Gwinnett County Police as a 5'9" black male, 18-25 years old with a slim build, went to his car and grabbed an assault rifle, and shot and killed Mialik, who died at the scene.

The other suspect was not as clearly seen on surveillance video, according to Cpl. Frederick Saldana, and is only described as being 18-25 years old with an average height and build.

The pair left in a white or silver SUV, which witnesses said was a Toyota 4-Runner, or similar vehicle.

The case appears to be a random act, said Saldana, and authorities are unsure which direction the suspects may have gone. It does not appear to be a robbery.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who has information on their whereabouts is asked to contact Gwinnett Police at (770) 513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS (8477).

The shooter can be seen on surveillance photos purchasing items from the Valero on Beaver Ruin Road Friday night.
