Six accounting students at the University of North Georgia's Mike Cottrell College of Business are providing a public service through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which enables them to file taxes for qualifying community members for free.
Lisa Nash, a certified public accountant (CPA) and lecturer of accounting in UNG's Mike Cottrell College of Business, joined the Afternoon News Wrap to explain what the program is all about, who qualifies for the VITA program and the benefits for the students filing taxes for the community.
