Gwinnett County authorities have now charged a 15-year-old boy as an adult in the strangling death of his mother at a Norcross apartment complex.
The victim has been identified as Faith Haynes,47. of Norcross.
The suspect - the victim's son - has been identified as Patrick Gibson of Norcross. Gibson faces charges of felony murder and aggravated assault.
A press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department said detectives confirmed the teen had mental health issues and had an argument with his mother about refusing to take his medication
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the Oakwood Vista Apartments. The victim's nephew discovered her body. Gibson had left the apartment, but police later tracked him to another part of the apartment complex.
Gibson is currently being housed at metro RYDC in Rockdale County.
