Nearly two weeks after finding suspected drugs in his home during a rape investigation, Gwinnett County Police have officially charged a Buford man with trafficking marijuana.

Police Cpl. Michelle Pihera said Thuan Dinh, 39, was recently served the additional warrants.  He's being held without bond in the November 24 rape and assault case.

Dinh allegedly physically and sexually assaulted his girlfriend in his Grand Ashbury Lane home.  Pihera earlier said the victim had been tied up, raped and tased over a 24-hour period.

Police said the woman escaped the ordeal when Dinh left the home.

"The victim showed up at the resident's home fully nude, hands bound with rope, and duct tape around her head and neck," Pihera wrote in a Nov. 30 media release.  "The residents/neighbors removed the duct tape."

Dinh was captured on Wednesday, Nov. 29, during a traffic stop on Buford Highway and Suwanee Dam Road.

In addition to the added marijuana count, Dinh is also charged with possession of a schedule one controlled substance.
