The National Weather Service, in an updated report, says snowfall amounts in north and central Georgia from the Friday-Saturday storm ranged from a trace to about a foot.
A graphic on the NWS Peachtree City office website shows the band of snow extended from near Columbus to near Athens and to the South Carolina line.
The heaviest snowfall occurred in parts of west central Georgia, the Gainesville area, parts of metro Atlanta, and the northeast Georgia mountains.
Four inches is the amount shown for Gainesville-Hall County but there were unofficial reports of up to 6 and 7 inches.
The snow ended and skies cleared about noon Saturday but below-normal temperatures are expected most of this week. However, little or no precipitation is expected.
