The Braselton Town Council and Downtown Development Authority officially welcomed Memorial Park Funeral Home to the city's historic downtown recently.

The stately home was built in 1918 by Green Braselton, the second son of town founder William Harrison Braselton.  The classic Georgian structure has been a showcase home as a family residence and as a special event center when it was owned by Marvin and Mary Stover.  Last year, Memorial Park’s owner, Jack Frost, purchased the property and began renovations "suitable to the history and setting," according to a news release from the city.

Governor Nathan Deal was the special guest at the opening and ribbon cutting at 5257 Highway 53.
