Matt Arthur has been named by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia, replacing Gretchen Corbin, who has been chosen to head the Georgia Lottery Corporation.
Arthur, who lives in Rabun County, has served as the deputy commissioner of TCSG since January 2015. He was previously the director of education reform for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, and is a former Superintendent of Rabun County Schools, a post he held for 13 years.
Corbin, who is from Rome, will replace the lottery's current President and CEO, Debbie Alford, who recently announced plans to leave the post.
