Gainesville man named to post with American Canoe Association

Morgan House, former Venue Manager for the Lake Lanier Olympic Park, has been named Director of High Performance & Competition at the American Canoe Association.

House has 18 years experience as a member of the Gainesville-based Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club, in addition to serving for two years as the club's High Performance Coach.

During his kayak racing career, he participated at more than 20 world-class venues in roughly a dozen countries. He was on the U.S. National Sprint Team from 2003-2012, won 50 national titles and spent five years living and training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.

He is also worked briefly as the Hall County Executive Director for the Boy Scouts. 

In addition, House is active with the Gainesville Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.  He also serves on the Peach State Bank Youth Development Board and the The John Jarrard Foundation Board. He is a member of the Gainesville Rotary Club, and a Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.
