The City of Gainesville is suspending garbage and recycling pickup for two days this week in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday - and Hall County has also announced its holiday schedule.
City officials say there will be no pickup of garbage or recyclables on Thursday and Friday, when all but essential city offices will be closed. The normal pickup schedle will be observed Monday-Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Hall County officials are remiding the public that the county's administrative offices, libraries, courts, recycling center and community centers will be closed Thursday and Friday. The county's three community centers will remain closed through the weekend.
The landfill will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will reopen on Friday. The compactor sites will remain open through the holiday.
You will still be able to conduct some business with the county online. You can renew a vehicle tag, find a new pet, pay taxes, and more at hallcounty.org.
