Mark Smith takes USCS Florida State Race finale at Ocala

OCALA, Fla. - Mark Smith took the lead on the start of Saturday night’s USCS Sprint Car Series feature at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida, and went on to score the victory.

Smith, who hails from Sunbury, Pennsylvania, led all 30-laps of the United Sprint Car Series Florida State Championship Race on the 3/8-mile dirt track en route to his first career series victory.

Terry McCarl finished in second, followed by Matt Kurtz in third, Danny Smith in fourth Friday night winner Trey Starks in fifth.

A.J. Maddox, Tyler Clem, Danny Sams III, Greg Wilson and Morgan Turpen rounded out the top ten finishers.

In preliminary action, Sams II, Mark Smith, Kurtz, Mark Ruel, Jr. and Maddox scored heat race wins. Shawn Murray won the Mystery Dash, while Jordan Mallett won the Speed Dash. Robbie Smith and Mallett won the B-Main races.

The USCS Sprint Car Sereis returns to action on Saturday, November 18 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. For more information, visit USCSRacing.com.
