White County looking for missing man with health issues

CLEVELAND — White County officials are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing 70-year-old man who has some health issues. 

Robert Lee Boone was last seen Wednesday night walking on Tommy Cowart Road, south of Cleveland. 

Boone, is 5-foot-9 and weighs 140 pounds, according to White County Sheriff’s investigator Jason Davis. He was last seen wearing a green plaid flannel shirt and blue jeans. 

According to Davis, the man was carrying an oxygen tank. 

A search for the man was conducted Wednesday night by sheriff’s department and fire personnel, along with help from Georgia State Patrol Aviation, but with no success. 

Davis asks anyone who has seen or been in contact with Boone to call the sheriff’s office or 9-1-1.
