GAINESVILLE — Chestatee took a thrilling 5-4, 8-inning win over Blessed Trinity Monday night to move into the Region 7-AAAA championship round.
The Lady War Eagles, the No. 2 seed, will take on No. 1 seed Marist in a best 2-of-3 series beginning on Thursday in Atlanta.
Chestatee started fast scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. But the Lady Titans began chipping way.
Blessed Trinity scored three runs in the third and one in the fourth to tie the game. It stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth inning.
Marist held off White County 2-1 in the other first round game to advance to the championship round. White County and Blessed Trinity will play a best 2-of-3 series in Roswell beginning on Thursday for third place.
