GAINESVILLE — The Chestatee girls suffered a big loss in Region 7-AAAA Tuesday night dropping a 57-51 decision to Blessed Trinity at home.

The Lady War Eagles (19-5, 5-2 Region 7-AAAA) needed a win to keep pace with West Hall for a shot at the regular season title. Chestatee now sits a full game behind the Lady Spartans (17-5, 5-0) with just two games left. The two teams will mee at Chestatee on Tuesday. A West Hall win would clinch the regular season title for the Lady Spartans.

Against Blessed Trinity (7-16, 2-4) Chestatee fell behind early in the first quarter and never recovered. The Lady War Eagles trailed 13-5 heading into the second quarter and trimmed the lead to 29-24 by halftime. But the Lady Titans extended the lead 48-42 after the fourth quarter.

Brooklyn Popham led Chestatee with 16 points. Lindsey Caudell added 15 points and Peri Satterfield 10 points for the Lady War Eagles.
