CLEVELAND — Truett McConnell women's basketball head coach Tron Griffin announced the signing of Naomi Holloway to the 2017 incoming class Thursday afternoon.
The Stone Mountain native was also being recruited by Norfolk State, Birmingham Southern and Point Universities.
"We are extremely excited to have Naomi and her family as a part of the Bear family," said Griffin. "Naomi is not only a phenomenal athlete but an extremely bright student with amazing character who will add value to the culture of our women's basketball program."
A soon-to-be graduate of Stephenson High School, the 5-foot-8-inch guard has been honored as a three-time Dekalb County Player of hte Month, a two-time Dekalb County Top-25 player and a Region 6-AAAAA semifinalist. Currently, she leads all players in Dekalb County at 17 points per contest while also pulling down four rebounds and dishing out four assists per game.
"I chose TMU because I was looking for a school that not only fit my academic and athletic desires, but also gave me an open and welcoming Christian atmosphere and I found it here," said Holloway.
Holloway is the daughter of Floyd and Celeste Holloway and has two sisters, Nia and Audrey.
