DAHLONEGA — Dawson County used an 18-7 first quarter to grab the lead and then held on for a 58-48 win over Lumpkin County Friday night in Region 7-AAA girls action.
The Lady Tigers (7-13, 4-4 Region 7-AAA) used the big first quarter run to eventually take a 30-21 lead into halftime. Lumpkin County (5-15, 1-7) chipped away outscoring Dawson County 20-13 in the third quarter to pull within 43-41 heading into the final period.
Thye Lady Tigers, however, outscored the Lady Indians 15-7 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
Kaylee Sticker had 27 points and several key steals late in the fourth quarter for Dawson County.
