BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — The Truett McConnell men's basketball team went toe-to-toe with the second-ranked team in the nation but fell to Union, 87-65, Wednesday night.

The Bears' four-game winning streak was snapped with the loss.

Although the Bears never led in the contest, they kept the game within single digits until the 5:10 mark in the first half and tied the game on three occasions.

Tylor Brown led the way for the Bears with 16 points off the bench on 7-13 shooting. Jacob Booke added 14 points as well.

The Bears will look to get back on the winning track against Tennessee Wesleyan at home on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. in the Bear Cave.
