MARYVILLE, Tenn. — After a snowy trek across Tennessee, the Piedmont College women's basketball team fell to conference foe Maryville College 55-40 Sunday afternoon.

The first half was a shooting struggle for the Lady Lions shooting 22.2% from the floor in the first quarter and being held to just six points in the second. BRIANNA BARRETT played the full 10 minutes in both quarters gathering four steals collectively in the half as Piedmont trailed 26-16 at the break.

The third quarter was opened up by BRIDGETTE KELLY hitting a three pointer to answer a Maryville three moments earlier making it 29-19. The offensive spark was short lived as the Lady Lions would give up 22 points to the Scots in the third quarter with Maryville ahead 48-29 over PC heading to the fourth.

In the fourth quarter Piedmont was able to hold the Scots to only 7 points but the large gap created in the third was too big for the Lady Lions to overcome. PC ended the contest with a five point streak falling to the Scots 55-40.
