While the situation remains fluid, forecasters are predicting up to three inches of snow could fall across North Georgia in a winter weather event that could start Friday night.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather watch that will go active Friday evening and stay in place until Saturday afternoon.
Most of north and central Georgia will be impacted first by rain and then by snow, according to forecasters.
Accumulations of one to three inches are expected as far south as the Macon area.
Travel conditions are expected to worsen as roads become slick from snow.
This weather story will be updated as needed.
