CLEVELAND — Christian Davis finished extremely close to a triple-double as the Truett McConnell men's basketball team led for nearly 37 minutes in a 94-71 win over St. Andrews Tuesday night.
The Bears improved to 6-9 and 2-5 in league play with the win.
The 94 points scored is a season-high, going three points more than the Bears win over Ave Maria on December 16.
After both teams traded baskets early, Darius McNear hit two baskets in a row to take a 16-13 lead, a lead that the Bears would never relinquish.
Christian Davis led the charge for most of the night, scoring 12 points while tallying seven rebounds, eight assists and four steals. The sophomore finished 4-for-5 from behind the arc in 26 minutes of action.
David Campbell Jr. led five Bears with double figures with 20 points. Brandon Cerezola added 16 points, while Kai Lambert and McNear had 15 and 10, respectively.
TMU shot a season-high 54.5 percent from the field, including going 11-for-26 from three-point land.
The Bears will look to make it three in a row when they travel to Point University on Thursday. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
