A contentious debate is ongoing in Oakwood between a group of Browns Bridge Road residents and representatives of Mincey Marble Manufacturing regarding a rezoning request filed by the 40-year-old company as they seek to expand their current operations.

The request, if approved by the Hall County Commission, would allow the compnay to build a 100,750-square-foot facility on an 11.68-acre tract across the highway from its current Browns Bridge Road location.

In order to learn more about both sides of the argument, the Afternoon News Wrap called on David Chastain, a member of the Browns Bridge Residents’ Coalition, and Donna Mincey, the President and CEO of Mincey Marble.

The interview with Mr. Chastain is posted above, while the interview with Ms. Mincey can be found here.

The Hall County Commission’s final decision regarding Mincey’s request when it comes before them next month.
