HELEN -- A hiker was injured Saturday near  Raven Cliffs Falls in northern White County.

Personnel from White County Fire Services, Helen Fire Department, and White County Emergency Medical Services were notified around 7 p.m. Saturday.

Units were dispatched to the report of a hiker that had injured himself while on the trail at Raven Cliff Falls, said White County Public Safety spokeswoman Ana Newberry. Responders located the patient about a mile up the trail.

Newberry said the patient was ambulatory and asked that he be assisted in walking out.

An ambulance was waiting at the end of the trail and Newberry said he was evaluated and transported to Habersham Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Newberry the rescue  was completed in two hours.
