SUWANEE — Mill Creek made short work of Collins Hill on Friday, stomping the Eagles 43-7 in Suwanee to open the Region 6-AAAAAAA campaign.
The Hawks (5-0, 1-0 Region 6-AAAAAAA) pounced on a 16-0 first quarter lead and never looked back, as Cameron Turley tossed a 70-yard touchdown pass to Edmond Graham before Graham exploded on a 85-yard kickoff return for a score. Mill Creek also registered a safety during the period.
Collins Hill managed just 127 yards of offense during the game -- 80 of that coming on their last possession of the contest, which saw the Eagles (0-5, 0-1) claim their only score of the night.
Jack Plummer also had a 55-yard punt return for a score for Mill Creek, while Anthony Presto scored from one yard. Turley also had a 44-yard touchdown pass to Ace Williams, and Cole Wroble rounded out the Hawks' scoring.
Turley completed 8 of 16 passes for 174 yards and two scores -- 87 of that to Graham. Presto led all Hawks rushers with 82 yards on 11 carries, as Mill Creek put up 350 total yards.
The Hawks will play host to North Gwinnett next week.
