FLOWERY BRANCH — After last week, Flowery Branch football needed a response.
The Falcons got it on Friday.
Following a shutout loss to Jefferson, the Branch opened Region 8-AAAAA play in style, hammering Johnson 46-7 in Flowery Branch.
Flowery Branch’s Myles Janess provided much of the offensive firepower, rushing 10 times for 158 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Kory Graham completed five passes for 106 yards and two scores.
The Falcons (2-3, 1-0 Region 8-AAAAA) rushed for 377 yards total.
Flowery Branch will continue Region 8-AAAAA play next week against Cedar Shoals at home.
Johnson (0-5, 0-1) will play host to Walnut Grove next week.
