Weekend events abound in Northeast Georgia

It was a busy weekend across Northeast Georgia, with a variety of festivals and special events.

The annual Chattahoochee Mountain Fair wrapped up at the Habersham County Fairgrounds in Clarkesville.

At noon Saturday, the third-annual Cruz Thomas Memorial Ride made its way through Franklin County honoring the memory of Deputy Cruz Thomas. The ride raises money for a scholarship fund at Franklin County High School, for Shriners charities and for Georgia Concerns of Police Survivors.

Saturday night, Sheriff Janis Mangum and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office held a Night of Lights event on the grounds of the Jackson County Courthouse in Jefferson. Emergency services vehicles, personnel and equipment were showcased, and there was an antique car show.
